Colin Channer

Colin Channer was born in Jamaica and educated there, and in New York. His most recent collection is Console, published in 2023 by Farrar Straus and Giroux. Console was listed for the for the PEN/Voelcker Award and named a New Yorker Best Book of the Year. A recipient of a Barnes & Noble Writers for Writers Award from Poets & Writers and a Cullman Fellowship from the New York Public Library, Colin teaches at Brown and was appointed Poet Laureate of Rhode Island in 2024 for a five-year term. His poems have appeared in The Atlantic,, The Poetry Review, Conjunctions and other venues.
