Author Submissions
The festival features a diverse group of authors in conversations, panels, and presentations. When reviewing submissions, we consider not only a book’s literary merit but where it might fit in with the other work in the festival lineup.
Authors are selected by committee and the majority of presenting authors appearing at the festival are by invitation only but we do include some open submissions. Applications will be accepted from January 1 – June 1.
If you would like to be considered for next year’s Festival, please email ONLY the following information to vtbookfest@gmail.com:
- Author name
- Book title
- Publisher & publication date
- Link to publisher’s catalog page for your book
- City and state where you live
Please note:
- We do not accept self-published authors
- To be considered, books must be published in the eighteen months preceding the festival; priority consideration will be given to books published within the festival year.
- Due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to respond to individual requests. If you are selected, you will be contacted by a member of the Committee no later than the middle of July.

It takes a village to put on a Festival – especially one that is volunteer run.

The Brattleboro Literary Festival is a 501(c)3 organization, meaning that your donation is 100% tax-deductible. Your donations are crucial to allow us to present the annual festival and other events throughout the year. We can’t do it without you!
